Terms & Conditions for Courses

To help Georgie Smedley Group give you first class service, the following constitute the terms and conditions to which applicants agree when booking any Georgie Smedley Group training. Throughout the terms and conditions, GSG stands for Georgie Smedley Limited T/A Georgie Smedley Group. Georgie Smedley Group reserves the right to review and update these periodically.

1. Registration with GSG (creating an account)

When booking onto a training course we require you to register to create an account and provide us with certain information about yourself, either online or through a recorded telephone conversation with your educator. In doing this, you agree to:

  1. Provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted by the registration form
  2. Maintain and promptly update the data we hold by logging into your account and updating

2. Booking a training course

2.1 It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they are booked on to the correct course for their abilities. Failure to do this will result in loss of booking fee.

2.2 Training courses can be booked via the GSG website, or directly with your educator. In the event that the website is down, you will be required to book through your educator. You need to be registered with GSG before you can do this as you will be required to log-in or create your account to complete the form & pay.

2.3 When you submit a booking for a course, your submission represents a booking onto the course you selected with up-front payment. On submission of the training course booking and payment, you will receive an automated summary email of your selection.

2.4 Completing and paying for your booking means you have read, understood, and agree to the terms & conditions listed below along with all pre-requisites required. If the company believes that the pre-requisites have not been completed, GSG will:

  1. Refund the amount in full and refuse access to the training, or
  2. Raise an invoice for the pre-requisites and require that, if they are courses that are to be completed, they are completed before the original course booking.

3. Prices, discounts, and sales taxes/VAT

3.1 GSG reserves the right to change prices listed without notice.

3.2 Discounts are not available in conjunction with any other offer and places are subject to availability.

3.3 The training course fees include: tuition on the day(s) and all relevant course materials.

4. Payment

4.1 Fees must be paid at the point of booking via Opayo or Stripe's secure online payment process, or if being booked through your educator, your details will be taken and passed on to the GSG Sales Team to be processed and then destroyed. If you have an applicable discount code this must be given at the time of booking, as the discount cannot be applied retrospectively.

4.2 We accept AMEX, Mastercard and Visa card payments.  A receipt will be sent to you by email. Opayo or Stripe will receive the information needed to verify and authorise your payment card and to process your order and is under strict legal and contractual obligations not to disclose this information to third parties. Please note that if you do not provide accurate details (including type of card and number) or if your credit card company does not authorise payment, your application will be deemed void. GSG will not accept any liability for costs incurred as a result of applications deemed void in this manner.

4.3 Sales taxes (VAT, TVA etc.) are charged at the applicable rate depending on the product and/or customer.

4.4 We cannot invoice for fees, or accept payment, by instalments.

4.5 If you choose to apply for finance, GSG accepts no responsibility for a rejected application, interest rates etc.

5. Prevailing terms and conditions 

Please note that this and all other GSG pre-contractual documentation shall not constitute an offer. All services provided by GSG are on the basis of these Terms and Conditions and, if you wish to engage any GSG services, we shall only provide them if you accept the Terms and Conditions. If you offer to engage GSG on your own terms and conditions then we shall only accept your offer subject to the Terms and Conditions, which shall, if we provide the services you offer to engage, prevail over any other terms and conditions.

5.1 Whilst we make every effort to keep changes to the site to a minimum, we reserve the right to make any amendments to the terms and conditions at any time to reflect changes affecting our business, including but not limited to, changes in technology, payment methods and legal and regulatory requirements. By continuing with your booking, you agree to accept any changes made to the terms and conditions.

6. Kits/Products/Tools

Kits/products purchased for training purposes must be checked on delivery. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure they have the correct products and tools for the course they have booked. Kit products are to be unused until the first day of training. GSG cannot be responsible for course kit products that have been opened and used prior to the training.

7. Ownership and intellectual property rights 

All GSG materials, whether on the website, posted, hard-copy or e-copy are owned by the GSG. All intellectual property rights in all materials available from GSG, including the design, graphics and text of all printed materials and the audio of all webinars and podcasts, are owned by the GSG. When you are given access to the materials, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the materials. No content may be copied, reproduced, uploaded, posted, displayed, or linked to in any way, in whole or in part, without GSG’s prior permission. Any such use is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of the GSG intellectual property rights.

7.1 Delegates consent to GSG recording the training course, which will be used for feedback and improvements in training. Recording by students is not allowed.

8. Special requirements at the training course 

GSG will make every effort to accommodate special requirements that have been notified in advance on the booking form.

9. Health and safety on a face-to-face in-venue training course 

You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations and any other reasonable security requirements that apply at the premises at which the training courses are provided. No responsibility will be accepted by GSG for damage or injury resulting from accidental misuse by untrained personnel without qualified supervision.

11. Behaviour

GSG reserves the right to remove any person from a training course whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by GSG or its trainers. In these circumstances, GSG will neither refund any fees nor reimburse any other costs.

12. Trainers

GSG shall provide such educators to present the training course as it, in its sole discretion, deems fit and GSG shall be entitled at any time to substitute any trainer with any other person who, in GSG’s sole discretion, it deems suitably qualified to present the relevant course.

13. Liability

GSG does not accept responsibility for anyone acting as a result of information in, or views expressed on, its training courses including course materials. Opinions expressed are those of individual trainers and not necessarily those of the GSG. Participants should take professional advice when dealing with specific situations.

14. Technology

GSG does not warrant that the provision of any content online will always be available or be uninterrupted, timely or error free, that defects will be corrected or that such content is secure or free from bugs, viruses, errors, and omissions.

15. Joining Instructions 

Joining instructions including an outline of the day and venue details (if the course is held face to face) will be available prior to the course start date via GSG (or their educator). GSG will not be held responsible for non-receipt of joining instructions and refunds will not be issued under such circumstances.

16. Personal data

The personal data you provide when you book the training course will be held in accordance with GDPR and used by GSG for the purpose of delivering your training course. Your details and contact information will be shared with your trainer in advance of the course and may be shared within GSG. Please be aware that the online training platform we utilise may requires your email address and may not allow for blind copies. Therefore, your email address could be visible to all the course attendees.

17. Cancellation

17.1 Cancellation of a training course (online or in-venue/face to face) If you need to cancel your place on the training course, you must notify GSG via email more than 14 days before the course start date. You will receive a full refund less an admin fee of 20% (plus VAT) of the course fee. If you cancel your place less than 14 days before the course start date, you will not be entitled to a refund.

17.2 Transferring your place If you can no longer attend the training course, you are entitled to transfer your booking onto the next training course that has availability. The transfer option only applies to delegates who are transferring to a different date for the same course and the date must be specified at the time of the transfer. The transfer is free of charge if you notify GSG via email more than 14 days before the course start date, otherwise the following applies:

  1. Transfers made 7 days prior to a course will be charged at 25% of the course fee
  2. Transfers made 0-7 days prior to a course will be charged at 50% of the course fee plus a £50 admin fee

Please note once you have transferred your booking you will not be entitled to a refund and you cannot transfer your place more than once.Delegates may transfer the place to another student’s name up to 7 days before the course, any changes after this time will not be accepted.

17.3 Changes and/or Cancellation by GSG  GSG reserves the right to alter or cancel a training course up to and including the day of the training course in extreme circumstances. If GSG has to cancel a training course, the following will apply:

  1. Your GSG representative will try to reschedule the training course and will inform you of the rescheduled dates and location (if course is held in-venue)
  2. If GSG can’t reschedule an in-venue training course we will, where possible, provide an alternative (e.g., online training course)
  3. If GSG is unable to reschedule the training course, we will offer you a free transfer to the next available training course
  4. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled dates, we will offer you a 100% refund of the fee
  5. Any costs or loss of earnings incurred are entirely the student’s responsibility. GSG does not accept any liability for reimbursement of costs or loss of earnings.
  6. Refunds will be processed within 28 days of receiving your request via bank transfer or credit card refund to the original payer

17.4 Non-attendance If you fail to attend the course you are booked onto without giving prior notice via email, GSG will be unable to refund the course fees or offer a transfer.

18. Complaints

Claims and complaints must be brought to the attention of the Head of Education at GSG in writing within 3 days of the course taking place. education@GSGroupuk.com Claims made outside of this time limit will not be accepted.
